Last October (10.10.10) two of my great friends, Ian Maddox and Lauren Tucci, said, “I do” on top of a mountain. For real. It was a warm, beautiful fall day in the hills Pala, California at the Condor’s Nest Ranch. People, I am telling you, if you’re looking for a unique, gorgeous location for your wedding, this is it. Ian and Lo went with an antique, Anthropologie-esque look for their wedding, and every detail was perfect. There were plenty of mercury glass votives, pale pink dahlias, antique fruit crates, found mason jars, and cute bee details.

Here’s a shot of Lauren’s wedding bouquet. It was a gathering of all cream astilbe, wrapped in natural twine and adorned with a bee locket from Etsy.

Lauren’s Bridesmaids’ bouquets were a mix of pale pinks, yellows, and whites with dahlias, roses, queen anne’s lace, billy balls, stock, and solidaster.

Here’s a grouping of the flowers used for centerpieces. I love seeing them all together in their unique vases! So pretty!

Here are some pics on location taken by Ali Winston. The centerpieces were made up of mixed jars and antique silver containers. The aisle was lined with tree stumps purchased from a local lumbar yard, mason jars, and million star babies breath. Jars filled with babies breath were also hung from trees surrounding the ceremony area. The overall look with the beautiful, natural scenery, the gorgeous bride and groom, and the adorable details was truly unforgettable !

Long+Stover Wedding in Dana Point

Here are a few pictures from a classy wedding a did last summer at the Dana Point Yacht Club! Photos were taken by Matthew Morgan Photography. The wedding had a whimsical island feel that was accented with bright green and purple orchids. Congrats to Tracey and Dan!

Spring wedding at Casa Romantica

As wedding season slowly dwindles down for the year, I finally have some time to catch up on posting pictures from recent weddings! Hooray! I received these lovely photos from Matthew Morgan Photography in my inbox this week and was instantly reminded that spring time has some of my very favorite flowers. The moment I met the bride, Kristen, and she started showing me photos from Martha Stewart Magazine of peonies, rununculus, and milk glass, I knew that we’d get along just fine

Kristen and Brian got married overlooking the ocean at Casa Romantica in San Clemente. I gotta tell you, I’m not a huge beach person, but I was blown away by the venue. It had the perfect combo of old world Spanish influences and modern California coastline beauty. The vibrant yellows, pinks, and greens of her flowers along with the traditional white looked fresh and fun. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. Thanks again, Matt!

A couple bouquets to start the day…

It’s always exciting to get photos back from the work done on past weddings (Thanks Drysdale Imagery!) Here are a couple of recent bouquets. The first is for an old friend from high school who wanted a simple bouquet wrapped with her Grandma’s handkerchief. The second for a dramatic red and black wedding that was brimming with roses. The last, a monochromatic bouquet for a bohemian wedding in San Diego. Enjoy!

It’s a pretty cool day when you get to see your best friend holding your flowers on her wedding day. As a bumbling, blathering, teary mess, I watched my dear Natalie Nokoff walk down the aisle last May holding a bright, cheery bunch of tulips, runuculus, button mums, and roses in whites and yellows. Yeah, I was a happy lady. Not to mention that her flawless gown was a Jacquelyn Christine Watkins original! For a DIY wedding hosted by old friends, I’d say it rolled out in serious professional style.

First of all, let me set the scene by telling you that they got married in this beautiful Rhode Island monstrosity:

TOTALLY AWESOME! Hands down best location for a wedding that I’ve seen yet. The photographer, Natalie Blank (natalieblank.com), took some breathtaking photographs throughout the New England botanic gardens that surrounded the green house. There’s more to come soon, but here’s a sneak peek of these two bright-eyed Brown Medical School grads that never cease to make my times with them a treat. Congrats, Natalie and Austin!

…a very good place to start!

The season kicked off well with a beautiful wedding at the Ebell Club in Long Beach, CA. When I met with Julie, the bride, she wanted a loose, bohemian bouquet with purple wildflowers and tighter white bridesmaid bouquets to contrast. This one was fun for me and gave me the opportunity to stray a bit from the traditional bridal bouquet style. If you know me, you know I love the rebellious types! I was pleased with the outcome, and EXTRA pleased with the beautiful photos that were taking by Amy and Paul Reams of Reams Photo
